Description and objective: Our highly acclaimed Graduate Internet Course (GIC) , funded by Scottish Enterprise and available to eligible candidates free of charge under the Training for Work scheme, is run five times a year.
The course is designed for graduates and professionals and provides up-to-date skills and knowledge to give you a thorough understanding of the web and how businesses can use it effectively. The training runs for 26 weeks and covers internet technologies & web design using HTML, XHTML, Photoshop, ASP, PHP & MySQL on e-business projects. The course also includes job search strategies and may be followed by a potential industry work placement .
The GIC course now offers an outstanding accreditation opportunity.
In the latter part of the course advanced candidates may have the opportunity to undergo a 16 week training programme in preparation for the Certified Internet Webmaster qualification(CIW). The CIW course allows trainees to gain the skills and knowledge needed in order to understand the fundamentals of the Internet, networking, web design and e-commerce.
Training is fully funded under Training for Work if you are between 25 - 64 years old and either 6 months + unemployed ( or six out of 12 months in the last year), part of a qualified large-scale redundancy or are returning to the labour market after a break of 2 years. Other eligibility criteria may apply. Some fee-paying places available.
