How to use the Trainer’s Register

Opening an account – basic registration

All very easy. Just enter basic details about yourself to open your account and these will form the ongoing background to all the specialisms you teach

.
Your CV – course and topic-specific data

Next, click through to a separate data entry page and enter your curriculum vitae for each specific course/topic that you teach and that you want listing in Training Pages. The data fields are designed to make the Trainer search engine as quick and thorough as possible. These include Training Page’s subject categories and sub-categories (you should click on the best fit for your speciality), description of your course, career resume, qualifications, experience and literature or materials relevant to that course or category. These may or may not be common to more than one course/category in the case of multi-discipline trainers.

Edit/view function

You can then review your CV in the format that it will appear online and edit it. When satisfied you can then add and keep up to date the dates you are booked up (so if not booked you are deemed to be available) and release to the website.

Paying

The unpleasant bit but, we think, potentially very rewarding for you.

Before your CV is published to the Trainer’s Register you will be directed to the on-line payment section operated by Worldpay, owned by Royal Bank of Scotland, and which we believe to be very reliable, efficient and secure.

We automatically calculate the price of the training specialisms you want to list and you just enter your credit card details.

Your Availability

You have the option to enter your availability on a rolling 16 month calendar which, if used, must keep up-to-date to be of value to your customers, the training providers. Training Pages will send you month-end reminders where no, or little, updating of availability has occurred during the month.

Your availability, as such, will not be shown publicly. Instead, Training Pages provides an ‘invisible’ search function. Where customers specify availability dates only those trainers who are available will be shown in the search results, assuming other search criteria have been met. If the search results are too thin providers can re-search with expanded availability dates. Where providers do not specify availability all trainers that fit the other criteria will be listed in the search results.

The calendar feature is easy to use. Like a pocket diary it assumes that you are available until you fill in the dates when you are not free. You just enter any start and finish date over a 16 month period with or without weekends and can then remove dates for holidays and available days in between. Day to day management is easy - by clicking on a ‘set’ or ‘unset’ space will reverse the setting from free to not free and vice versa.

Trainer search function

The trainer search function is accessible, free of charge, to all training providers who have registered and logged in to Training Pages. Search functionality is straightforward and similar to the user Smartsearch, the basic feature being keyword search in specified data fields entered on you CVs. If set, the regional search function will match the regions you have set.

Trainer search results

The trainer search results will be displayed in summary format as set out below showing:

· Description of course/topic with keywords highlighted

· your career resume

· your qualifications

with the option to view your full CV in Training Page’s standard format to facilitate quick and easy candidate comparison.

If you ‘fit the bill’ the providers will make sure they contact you.
